Ashley Ang

Ashley is a 17-year-old art student at Pathlight School with a passion for teaching art. She aspires to become an art teacher, sharing her love for painting techniques with others. Diagnosed with Global Development Delay at three years old, Ashley also has Autism Spectrum Disorder and Dyslexia. Despite these challenges, she has flourished as an artist, using her work to raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder. Ashley enjoys painting animals and flowers, and her favourite colour is purple. She also enjoys creative hobbies like crochet, embroidery, and paper crafts, often sharing her creations with others.

Art Journey:

Ashley’s artistic journey began at a young age, with her talent being recognized at just four years old. Although she faced challenges due to her diagnoses, including delays in speech and learning, her love for art was evident. Ashley’s parents chose to enroll her in Pathlight School, where she received the support needed to thrive. She began private art lessons at the age of eight, and by 12, she joined Artzillions under the guidance of Ms. Elaine Pang, which helped her further develop her skills. Through her art, Ashley has found an outlet for self-expression, particularly through her vibrant depictions of animals and flowers.

Art has become a way for Ashley to manage stress and stay focused, particularly in her school life. She listens to music during art classes to help her concentrate and block out distractions. Her artistic journey continues to inspire others, as she uses her creative talents to advocate for Autism Spectrum Disorder and share her unique perspective with the world.
