We are Singapore’s 1st Art Learning with STEM, fostering all-rounded development for children to grow academically, cognitively, in social emotionality and motor skills.

By adding ‘Art’ to the traditional concept of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), we created STE‘A’M and incorporated this framework into our teaching philosophy. With this, we aim to stimulate curiosity, scientific inquiry, and understanding via experimentation and play.

Curriculum

The curriculum of our lessons covers themes on nature, cultures, traditional and contemporary artists, and historical art movements; and involves a variety of art mediums ranging from acrylic painting and oil pastels, to clay and print making.

The curriculum covers a wide spectrum of art media ranging from

·      Dry medium - Pencil, charcoal, oil pastel, and soft pastel.

·      Wet medium - Acrylic, gouache, watercolour, and markers.

·      Others - Wire, foil, foam, and clay.

The curriculum naturally prepares children for Direct School Admission (DSA) with documentation of the process work showing the thinking processes of the development of the artworks, exploration of the possibilities of different materials and techniques.

Benefits of art learning

Researches have shown that art activities in the early childhood have several benefits on children's development. In addition to improving the neurological and motor skills, art has a lot of positive effects on a child’s character and personality. It can impact positively on confidence, self-esteem, personal, social, emotional development and behavioural health, breaking down language barriers, cultural prejudices or societal differences, and leading to decreased social problems and increased creativity.
