I am a cheerful boy who finds joy in painting colourful and bright things. Colours and sunshine make me feel truly happy.
Born with Down syndrome and congenital heart conditions, I’ve faced many challenges, including surgeries and difficulties with speaking, seeing, and gripping things. But despite these obstacles, I’ve discovered a love for painting. Although I paint slowly, carefully filling the canvas stroke by stroke, I never give up. Some of my paintings take many weeks to complete, but I’m proud of each one.
When I’m not painting, I love exploring design apps on my iPad. I enjoy designing houses with many rooms, dreaming of the day when I can go to art school to study interior design.
My goal is to become an interior designer and create beautiful spaces that make people feel happy, just like the colours in my paintings do for me.
How I started painting?
My journey with art started unexpectedly. After school, I used to wait in my mommy’s office, often feeling bored. To pass the time, I would doodle and scribble on paper. Seeing my interest, my mommy thought it would be a great idea for me to learn how to draw and paint with a teacher. By chance, there was an art studio right across from her office, and I started going there while waiting for her to finish work. But soon after, my art teacher had a baby and stopped teaching, and so, I stopped painting too.
A Devine Appointment
My mommy and I prayed for guidance, and God showed her the number “77.” We didn’t understand its significance until we met Teacher Nancy at an event. She operated an art studio at address No. 77! I began learning to paint with Teacher Nancy when I was 10 years old, and I’ve been painting ever since. It feels like a divine appointment, leading me to where I am today, continuing to grow in my art and design journey.
